Red House Band

Way back in 1969, a junior at Roosevelt High School in Seattle, WA, who was a budding rock singer and bass guitarist, was approached by a couple of school mates to join their band. The singer was Tim Scott, who later established himself securely in the Northwest before embarking on a 25 year journey through the Music Mecca of Los Angeles. The bandmates were drummer/vocalist Robin Crane and guitarist Mark Noftsger, both of whom made their marks as veteran musicians, plying their craft up and down the West Coast. After graduation, these three forged their first pro working band in the Top 40 circuit before going their separate ways. In the early 80’s, Tim founded a Seattle band with his friend, legendary guitarist Rich Dangel, called The Reputations. Highly respected in the NW musical community and heavily booked in the local bar scene, that band won the very first Seattle Music Award for Best R&B Band. Early on, the original keyboardist left, making way for singer and Hammond organist Jimmy Holden of the illustrious Holden musical empire. Together, they dominated the blues/R&B/Soul and Funk end of the NW scene until Tim embarked on a journey to Los Angeles, taking his career to the next level. A level that would have him sharing the stage with the likes of Stevie Wonder and Eric Clapton—touring with Tower of Power, Robben Ford, Etta James and Dave Mason. Robin moved to Sacramento & LA, playing & studying recording techniques. Mark joined the US Army–serving and playing in Hawaii. Jimmy spent several years touring Asia and Italy, living in Hong Kong for a time. Fast forward over 30 years, they have, one by one, returned to their native soil, their roots and as fortune and alchemy would have it, co-created a new project—Red House. Since forming, they have performed at Mt. Baker R&B Festival 17, Sunbanks R&B Festival 2015, 10th Porterhouse Brewfest, North Bend Blues Walk 2014 & 2015, Lincoln Theater w/ Coco Montoya, Snohomish Taste of Music, IBC Finals 2014, WBS Blues Bash, Indigenous Cultures Day @ EMP Museum and clubs all around the Puget Sound area.

BLUES AND BEYOND
Red House isn’t just a Blues band. They embrace many of the idioms that sprang from the Blues–R&B, Soul, Funk and even a little Jazz. And each musician brings to the table almost 50 years of experience and expertise. That’s one reason why Red House is the band other bands come to see. Their first recording, a 4 song EP, titled “Over Yonder”, was released in 2017. The cover art is an original painting by Tacoma’s own Little Bill Englehart and the disc is available for purchase now—one cover tune and 3 original songs. They are currently back in the studio recording a full length follow-up CD. If you haven’t heard Red House, check them out. You’ll be glad you did.

Eldridge Gravy and the Court Supreme

ELDRIDGE GRAVY & THE COURT SUPREME is a funk juggernaut. Backed by the hot, gritty orchestration of the 13 member Court Supreme, front man Eldridge Gravy easily works dance floors to a fever pitch with his full-bore performance and smooth rapport with the audience.

In 2017, the group released their self-titled fourth studio album. Recorded by Jason Gray of Polyrhythmics & Blue Mallard Studios, mixed by Floyd Reitsma at Studio Litho.

Over the past few years EG&tCS have headlined practically every prestigious venue in Seattle and Portland, including Crocodile, Neumos, Tractor Tavern, Showbox, Doug Fir Lounge, and Star Theater. They have also ruthlessly funked thousands of festivalgoers at Bumbershoot, the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland, and July 4th at Gasworks Park.

“The Funk Show of the Year went down the other weekend at Tractor Tavern. Eldridge Gravy & the Court Supreme cranked the heat way up, revealing the grittiest get-down side to their electro disco beats yet.”Johannah Juarez – SSG Music

“If there’s doubt that funk is anything but alive, well and ass-kicking, critics need look no further”Erin Thompson – Seattle Weekly

“…The backup singers and horns are tight, and the baby-faced, curly-maned Mr. Gravy can wail, shout and moan with sweaty force…When the Court was in session, they got people moving.”Misha Berson – Seattle Times

“Eldridge Gravy & the Court Supreme’s shows flamboyantly accentuate the positive with mostly up-tempo, tried-and-true maneuvers: dynamic horn charts; intricate, rousing vocal interplay; “Good god!”–inducing rhythms; and inspirational keyboard swells. Unless you’re an industrial-grade curmudgeon, Eldridge Gravy’s bold, brassy attack wipes out glumness within seconds.”Dave Segal – The Stranger

MEET THE BAND:

Joe Cook Blues Band

The Joe T. Cook Blues Band is one of the premier blues bands touring the west coast. The members are all award winning blues professionals with more than 30 years experience as gigging blues musicians. The band performs high energy traditional Chicago and west coast style blues, with elements of the old school Texas sound.

JOE T. COOK is a multiple Twin Cities Music Awards winner for his blazing blues harmonica, original songwriting and vocals.
Joe is one of the true legends of the Minneapolis blues scene, having honed his craft with his award winning band the Longshots back in the 1990’s. The rich, vibrant blues scene in Minneapolis that spawned the legendary Union Bar and the great bands and musicians of the Midwest was fertile ground for Joe and his band of stellar musicians.
Joe writes and sings the band’s original blues material and nails the humor and wry commentary of the best of the blues.

TIM “STOOP DOWN” SHERMAN is a blues guitarist nonpareil, a three time B.B. Award winner for Best Electric Guitar and WBS Hall of Fame member for his work with legendary NW band Stevie and the Blue Flames. Tim has performed with or been a member of just about every blues band of note in the Northwest since 1983. He is a true Master of the Stratocaster as well as that big red Gibson ES-355 guitar. His style combines old school Lonnie Johnson, T-Bone Walker, B.B. King and Pee Wee Crayton with west coast revival. Tim is also a disciple of the old school Texas sound of the great Anson Funderburgh and the fabulous Ronnie Earl.

CONRAD “EL MACHETE” ORMSBY is considered one of the best blues drummers on the west coast, and his talents are constantly in demand. He has performed with countless NW blues greats over the past 30 years and is a founding member of the famed “Ballard Shoals” rhythm section. His name strikes fear in the hearts of pretenders to the throne of blues drumming, and is the backbone of the Joe Cook Blues Band groove.

24 Madison

24 Madison is headed west, bringing you our favorites from Aretha, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder and more! Come out to the new Aurora Borealis club for a fantastic evening with us!

With well over 200 years of music experience among them, the members of 24 Madison found each other over the past few years and decided to leverage that experience towards a band that was unique and would stand out against the current scene.

Female, male, and backing vocals, REAL horns (nice when you have a fantastic keyboard player and he doesn’t have to fake horn parts!), and percussion in addition to drums–we are able to take on a HUGE range of music, everything from soul to rock to pop to funk–and with our experience and dedication we cover them well. Who else covers Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Chicago, Amy Winehouse, Al Green, in one show!?!
